A hot color for Spring 2012 is reminiscent of the ocean waves and tropical night sky. Colors reign…but one stands out as elegant and calming. Aqua is the forerunner of the moment. Shades of seawater blues are easier for all of us to wear; perfect for all complexions and hair color. The other hot [...]

Accessorize Your Life
Posted by Samantha Conner
My current favorite embellishment is the fabric flower- easy to make and even easier to personalize. And even if you aren’t the ‘flower wearing’ kind of girl, you will find a way to incorporate this pop of color somewhere in your life. Fabric flowers are just constructed from bits of fabric, but look at how these little details can make a huge impact with their texture and color. -

Holidays Made Easy
Posted by parkcitiesmoms
I feel like every year I am always surprised on how fast the holidays approach us. I never feel prepared for them. So instead of thinking about what dish I am going to contribute to Thanksgiving dinner or making my gift list for Christmas, I am thinking about what I am going to wear. How can I look fashionable at all the upcoming events and get togethers? -
Get the Boot!
Posted by Rhonda Sargent Chambers
One zesty trend that normally takes a back seat to the new seasons clothing updates… BOOTS! They are very much an important part of your ensemble and a wonderful way to freshen up your wardrobe. The 70’s still reign, so think bo-ho chic when choosing your skirts and pants to match up! I trust that you can find “black” on your own, black boots are easier to find. So I have reached out of our comfort zone for other fun color tones to shake things up a bit. Shoe Boots rank high with over-the-knee styles coming in a close second. Here are the best new trends and how to wear them! -

This with That
Posted by Rhonda Sargent Chambers
In earlier days, it was forbidden to ‘not’ match. Our grandmothers always wore their black kitten heel low pumps with a black lady-like satchel. Not this fall! The new season brings a wonderful trend of barely…just closely…but not quite matching color tones. -
The History of Denim
Posted by Rhonda Sargent ChambersOkay Students! Class is now in session for your first lesson… “The History of Denim” The word comes from the name of a sturdy fabric called serge, originally made in Nîmes, France, by the André family. Originally called serge de Nîmes, the name was soon shortened to denim. The contemporary word “jeans” comes from [...]

Samantha Conner
In my “past life” I earned a degree in Education at TCU and taught elementary school. But these days, I am working as a super stay-at-home-mom with a serious craft addiction. During naptime, I am an avid blogger, runner, and nester. My blog is the place where I chronicle my journey in homemaking and sell my fabulous handmade bows, tutus, and hair accessories. I have a loving husband and two young daughters. Their enthusiasm and support is what drives my creativity in home decor, unique crafts, party planning, holiday fun, and all things girly. I am dedicated to creating a warm, loving home for my family. And to me, that means a lot of 'crafty how-to’ projects along the way. I believe that life can be more fabulous with the use of polka dots, tulle, ribbon and rhinestones! I hope you enjoy sharing in our adventures and that I can inspire you to 'get crafty' in your own home. Follow my crafting journey at craftytexasgirls.blogspot.com -

Maxi Erdmann
I am Maxi Erdmann, and I reside in Keller, TX with my four sweet babies and my husband, Nathan. A University of Oklahoma grad, I love all things SOONER! I love food, but I don’t cook, I love music, but I don’t sing, (except in the shower), and I have a ridiculously expensive obsession with make-up. I have been writing since I could form letters and my mother put a pencil in my hand. Prior to having my third and fourth baby, I was a teacher at Southlake Christian Preschool. Before moving to Texas, I lived in Oklahoma where I spent my days as a full-time mom of twins and part-time make-up artist. I have also lived in Nashville, TN where I worked for Gaylord Entertainment and Springhouse Golf Course. My other interests include all things sports related and a new endeavor as an aspiring (learning!) photographer. It seems, along with my pencil, I have always had a camera around my neck. My days are filled with loud kids, tons of laundry and enough extra-curricular activities to keep six people busy. I’m up for the challenge, and I love every minute of it... -
